An Analysis of Tools for Reflection
Over the past eight months of student teaching, I have developed a set of practices that facilitate and aid reflection – a tool kit of sorts. The three main practices I have focused on for this portfolio are the following: journaling, taking field notes, and lesson planning. Each of these practices provides an opportunity to think metacognitively about my teaching philosophies and techniques. They are useful for thinking about both what I will plan and teach and what I have already planned and taught.
